Ross Thomson

Ross Thomson was born in Aberdeen in 1987 and attended Balmedie Primary School, Bridge of Don Academy and graduated from Aberdeen University with a first class honours degree in Politics and International Relations.  After leaving University he worked for the Bank of Scotland in Dyce as a customer advisor. Later moving on to work for Debenhams as a store trainer. 

Ross spent many years as a campaigner for the conservative party and in 2012 he was elected to serve the Hazlehead/Ashley/Queen’s Cross ward on Aberdeen City Council.

In 2016 Ross became a member for the Scottish Parliament (MSP) in the Holyrood elections as a Conservative party MSP for the North East Scotland region.

 Besides politics Ross is enthusiastic to be involved in the local community and sits on a number of boards and trusts. Ross is a Governor of Robert Gordons College, Trustee of Aberdeen International Youth Festival, Trustee of Chris Anderson Trust, Cowdray Hall Committee, Rubislaw Field Committee, Friends of Hazlehead Park and Ross also volunteers at Aberdeen arts centre.
